Our organization was created to foster an interest in genealogy.
We hope to foster and preserve genealogical and historical data, particularly with respect to ancestors, founders and early settlers of the country. We hope to aid individuals in their genealogical research and in compiling their family histories. We have established and are maintaining a genealogical library in the county through contributions, exchanges, and purchases of materials.
Our group holds regular monthly meetings, and publishes quarterly newsletters which are sent to each member. These contain Clinton County information, as well as general genealogical information. Queries are posted free for members.
Our Genealogical library is open to the public, by appointment. For appointment, please call Ruth Evans (319)259-1285 or Joy Schmid (319)242-4712. The library has Clinton County histories, some census, Old Age Assistance records from 1934-1936, Cemetery records, Funeral Home records, etc.
